The Winery Spier delivers absolute top wines of the premium class. With three unique product lines of its own, the winery has held a stable position at the top of the South African wine landscape for many years. The 21 Gables Collection convinces with its complexity and fruity taste.
The Creative Block wines show that a highly complex cuvée can very well produce harmonious wines that have both a fine elegance and a powerful body. The Frans K Smit is the "flagship wine" and is only released in a limited bottling. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz , it contains the most beautiful aspects of a Bordeaux-style wine such as elegance and harmony, paired with the typical fruity and powerful character from the New World.

Frans Smit has harnessed more than three centuries of winemaking tradition to transform Spier into an award-winning top wine producer. "Respect what the vineyard gives you" is the cellar master's mantra. Growing up on a grape farm in the Northern Cape, becoming a master of the barrel was the next logical step. In addition to exploring great wines, Frans enjoys wandering around in areas that not even 4G can reach. He is a member of the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild.
