Winery Dieu Donné
Winery Dieu Donné
The winery Dieu Donné is situated high on the steep, south-west facing slopes of the Franschhoek mountains. This unique location favours a cool climate and, combined with the rocky soils of weathered granite, creates a unique terroir that is ideal for viticulture.
These conditions ensure that the vines do not overgrow and only produce highly concentrated grapes in small quantities, which can only be found in this form on the Dieu Donné estate.
"Dieu Donné" literally means "A gift from God". The winery's spectacular mountain backdrop confirms this translation only too well.

Winemaker: Gregory Siebrits
Gregory Siebrits, who has been with Dieu Donné since 1998, produces a collection of "easy-drinking" white and rosé wines in the style of the modern as well as red wines of the old-fashioned kind that rival other well-known wine regions such as Bordeaux in France.
Greg's attitude is to make wines that can be enjoyed by both inexperienced and experienced wine connoisseurs. He also wants every wine he makes to resemble the Terrior of the farm. His motto is to be satisfied at the end of each working day. He is the father of 4 children and grandfather of 2.
