Winery La Motte
Winery La Motte
The grapes used for the production of the La Mottewines come from the La Motte estate as well as from other selected farms in the Cape Winelands. Thanks to the great diversity of terroirs, the grapes from each region make a unique contribution to the flavour components of the La Motte wines. La Motte's Nabot farm in the coastal region of Walker Bay is an organic farm.
The unique charm of La Motte's wines comes from the character given to them by particular soil types and the temperate climate. This creates growing conditions that favour the best grapes. La Motte's well-equipped cellar allows the winemakers to combine tradition with modern science to produce wines that are known worldwide for their consistency and excellence.

Winemaker: Edmund Terblanche
Edmund Terblanche has now been winemaker at La Motte since 2004, having previously worked as Assistant Wine Maker at the estate for 3 years.
Edmund believes that the highest priority in winemaking is to get the best out of what the grape has to offer naturally.
That is why everything in the winemaking process is approached carefully.
With great success, we think!
