Winery Raka
The Dreyer family bought the Farm Remhoogte southeast of Hermanus in the Akkedisberg area in 1982. Piet Dreyer was involved in commercial fishing at the time. They ran cattle and later planted citrus trees.
Piet's wife and children farmed in his absence. In 1999, the Dreyers planted 10 acres Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. The birth of Raka Wines, which was named after Piet Dreyer's fishing boat. The farm is situated in a narrow valley in the Kleinriver Mountains (the southernmost mountain range in Africa) and today covers 68 hectares.

The wine portfolio is led by the flagship wine Raka Biography Shiraz, which is a representation of the excellent quality of the wines, alongside the world-renowned Raka Quinary Bordeaux style cuvée.
