Winery Springfield


The Wine Estate Springfield is located in the heart of the Robertson Valley in the Western Cape, surrounded by mountains.

Springfield is a family-run wine farm, now in its ninth generation of ownership by descendants of French Huguenots. Springfield produces its wines in an extremely natural way and tries to reflect the granite-heavy terroir of the region as best as possible. The Springfield winery therefore creates its wines using traditional and ancient winemaking methods. For us, Springfield is a real insider tip for fans of mineral, fresh wines with expressiveness.

Winemaker: Abrie Bruwer


Abrie Bruwer is responsible for the vineyard and the wines of Springfield. Abrie is not only a winemaker, but also co-owner of the winery.

He is very closely rooted to his land and only needs to smell the soil to know if his vines need some water. That is why he is not afraid of constantly reinventing his wines and taking risks now and then, which usually result in excellent wines.
