Winery Wildekrans
Wildekrans Wine Estate is a picturesque 1,000 hectare vineyard tucked away in the beautiful Botrivier Valley. What is now known as Wildekrans winery producing internationally award-winning wines was originally established as a mixed farming operation.
It was soon realised that the cool terroir of this picturesque farm in the Botrivier Valley had all the key ingredients to produce grapes of the highest quality. The winemaking process also follows low intervention principles with a focus on capturing and preserving the essence of the vine and terroir. The philosophy of Wildekrans winemaking is based on the premise that special wines are born in the vineyard. Consequently, great care is taken to match the grape varieties to the appropriate soil types. Then the vines are tended to produce wines with pronounced structure and fruit intensity. The estate is planted with about 70 hectares of red wine and white wine grape varieties, with future plantings to enrich and balance the portfolio.
