Winery Holden Manz

The winery Holden Manz is characterised by a state-of-the-art design paired with the latest technology in the wine cellar.
This allows winemaker Thierry Haberer Holden Manz' special terroir to be expressed.
The 22-hectare wine estate is located in the farthest corner of the Franschhoek valley and is only about an hour's drive from Cape Town.

The two owners, Gerard Holden and Migo Manz, have already won numerous national and international awards with their winery.
After the acquisition in 2010 (formerly "Klein Genoot"), the two started to restore the wine cellar as well as the rest of the wine estate. In addition to the wine cellar, Gerard and Migo run an exclusive 5-star hotel with international cuisine of the highest standard.
The South African art on display at the winery rounds off the " Holden Manz experience" perfectly.

Winemaker: Thierry Haberer

Winemaker Thierry Haberer has been involved with wine and its production for over 15 years.
A passionate and unconventional approach, combined with the utmost respect for the preservation of the quality of the grapes, is evident in every bottle he produces.

There is no doubt that his quality-driven approach and hunger for innovation is setting new standards in the Holden Manz range. Something to look forward to in the years to come.

Introducing Holden Manz

Gerard Holden + Migo Manz = Holden Manz! A British-German symbiosis that has managed to produce first-class quality wines with passion, enthusiasm and precision - award-winning and extremely successful internationally. The two acquired the former winery "Klein Genoot" in August 2010 and started rebuilding it.

The Franschhoek valley has long been known for its first-class wines. The area of Holden Manz covers a total of 22 hectares. The fertile, dark clay soils and the mild climate create ideal conditions for the growth of the grape varieties Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.

The red wines from Holden Manz embody South Africa - diverse fruit aromas and mild acidity. The Chardonnays trump with natural freshness, minerality and crisp taste. From cultivation to ageing, Holden Manz tries to bring natural processes into harmony with an ecological and holistic approach.

Now you have the opportunity to get to know the wines of this extraordinary winery in all its facets.
And all this at a special price. So what are you waiting for?

Switzerland - Shipping to German border countries

A cheaper and similarly expensive alternative is to have the wine delivered to German border countries and do the customs clearance yourself. You will then get back the German VAT, have a free volume of 5 litres per person and pay 2 CHF customs duty for each additional litre.
We also deliver free of charge within Germany starting at 120€ purchase value. Furthermore you don't have to coordinate with the parcel service and make sure that someone present as soon as the delivery arrives.

If you don't have the option of having the goods delivered to friends in the border countries, we can deliver the wine to a UPS Access Point to the border near your home. You don't need to register, there are no additional costs and you can collect your wines at the Acess Point within a certain time frame.

There are also various providers of parcel shops where you can have your package picked up for a small fee, e.g. SWISS-PAKET - with branches in Waldshut-Tiengen, Laufenburg, Weil am Rhein, Jestetten & Rheinfelden or EURORETOUR - with branches in Waldshut-Tiengen, Laufenburg, Weil am Rhein & Konstanz.

On request we will send you an export receipt which you can have stamped at customs and send back to us. We will then refund you the German VAT minus a handling fee of 12,00€.

Please note the opening hours of the customs offices! The customs offices usually close on Saturday at 13:00 and are closed on Sunday! For more information about opening hours and customs clearance please visit https://www.ezv.admin.ch.
For the customs declaration you just have to pull over at the border. You can pay with your EC card and pass the customs queue comfortably.
The officials are friendly and you can also get competent information by phone.

Please note that this form of reimbursement involves costs and effort. Therefore, we always deduct 12,00 € from the VAT amount to be refunded for these expenses.

Taxes, duties and charges in the EU

All taxes, duties and charges for Germany, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Luxembourg, Malta, Austria, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary, Cyprus (Greek part only) are included in our prices.

The following countries levy an excise duty on wine (as of May 2020): Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Poland. Due to their transport within the EU internal market, postal items from countries of the European Union are regularly not handled by the customs administration. These items are therefore generally delivered directly to you without incurring import duties. This does not mean, however, that the goods are generally duty-free. Under certain conditions, postal items sent within the EU may also be checked. For this purpose, the customs authorities may have postal items opened and check whether they contain goods that are subject to excise duty or whether their import, transit or export violate legal prohibitions and restrictions. The secrecy of letters and mail is restricted in this respect. If they receive goods subject to excise duty, you are generally obliged to report this to the relevant customs office and, if necessary, to pay duties.

Due to legal regulations we only deliver to persons over 18 years of age. This can be checked by our forwarding agent. Therefore, please make sure that a person of full age can accept the delivery.
